Mae is reminded of a familiar saying: “birds eat ants when birds are alive and when birds die, ants eat the birds.” In other words, circumstances can change. Mae remembers a true story where an individual received a parking citation for parking unlawfully in a handicap space. The individual uttered some harsh words to the officer and said some harsh words about disabled individuals. Fast forward, the same individual came back to the police station, about a year or so later, apologizing to the officer. The individual was now a paraplegic, due to a car wreck, that involved the same car. May one know that we have to be careful what we say and how we look down on others. Just remember one’s circumstances can change at ANYTIME…
