Marriage is supposed to be forever. Yes. You heard Mae– forever. Please tell that to Mae’s ex. He changes spouses like he changes underclothes. Recently, he texted and later called Mae wanting to discuss the marriage he walked away from. Mae did get a chance to shock him back to reality, reminding him of the affair and marriage to his new wife that took place a little over three months after the divorce. You guessed it; he tried to deny it. However, he was presented with facts and facts don’t lie. He professed his love for Mae and wanted to know if Mae loved him. Mae shut down the conversation by reminding him that his new wife probably wouldn’t like him professing his love to an ex and asking an ex if she loved him. As Mae’s late mom used to say, ” if the grass is not green, water it.” He chose not to water it, thinking the grass was greener on the other side. May one realize the grass is not always greener on the other side and a marriage commitment is supposed to be forever.
