A narcissist’s article came across my newsfeed. It brought back memories of the day I met and married a narcissist. He was not the most attractive person, but neither is Mae. After a few days, he told Mae he was falling in love with her and she would be his wife. He kept asking Mae if she loved him. Did Mae buy the love lie? She did. As the author of the article stated, narcissist aren’t capable of truly loving another. He wasn’t. The handwriting was on the wall (Mae didn’t read it)– younger, many failed marriages, relationships, jobs and no stability. Yet he couldn’t wait to marry. Mae married him, thinking he was a believer who had fallen on hard times. He told Mae he was a believer, but a tree is known by the fruit it bears. His tree bared no spiritual fruit. When Mae stopped feeding his narcissim, he did just what the author stated, he left the marriage for yet another. May you seek God; Mae didn’t. A narcissist may not love you, but God does.
