The words, “a work in progress” describes Mae’s day… the day started with a condescending text. Mae started to get in flesh (remember, she’s a work in progress). However, the Spirit spoke and told Mae to ignore the text. Well, Mae ignored the text and a few minutes later, was even able to laugh at its content. Well, here comes test two, less than an hour after the condescending text. Mae’s phone alerted her, and Mae was shocked to see a text from an ex . Mae was going to ignore the text until the Holy Spirit spoke again, “show the love of Christ.” What? How can you show the love of Christ to someone who walked out of the relationship? Reluctantly, Mae did show Christ’s love, which resulted in an apology from the ex. It also showed Mae that there was still unresolved hurt and bitterness, that needed to be surrendered to God. It gets better; just when Mae thought it couldn’t get any worse, Mae received a call from someone Mae used to gossip with. Did Mae pass the third test? No. As Mae was listening to the gossip, intervention happened. Another (more) pressing call came in. Thank you Jesus. May one realize that as Christians, we’re all a work in progress. No one has arrived. However, if we listen to the Holy Spirit, surrender and draw closer to God, we will see progress.
